Claude’s Summer Sessions Launch Rooftop Season at Chotto Matte Manchester
Manchester’s rooftop season officially arrived in style with the launch of Claude’s Summer Sessions at Chotto Matte Manchester.
The event marked the grand opening of the venue’s rooftop terrace for Summer 2026, bringing together guests, influencers, hospitality professionals, and media for an evening of cocktails, music, dining, and panoramic city views.
As the event photographer, my brief was refreshingly simple: capture the essence, glamour, and energy of the evening.
From the moment guests arrived, there was a clear sense that this wasn’t just another hospitality launch. Chotto Matte has built a reputation for creating memorable experiences, and Claude’s Summer Sessions delivered exactly that. The rooftop terrace provided the perfect backdrop, combining Manchester’s skyline with stylish interiors, vibrant lighting, and a relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere.

Capturing Atmosphere Through Hospitality Photography
One of the biggest challenges when photographing hospitality events is documenting not just what happened, but how it felt to be there.
The goal wasn’t to create a series of staged photographs. Instead, the focus was on authentic moments; guests enjoying cocktails, conversations between friends, the excitement of the launch, and the small details that contribute to a premium hospitality experience.
Hospitality photography works best when it tells a story. The imagery needs to transport potential customers into the experience and allow them to imagine themselves there.
Throughout the evening, I focused on capturing:
- Natural guest interactions
- The atmosphere of the rooftop terrace
- Signature food and cocktail presentations
- Brand details and venue design
- The energy of the crowd
- Sunset and evening ambience
- The overall luxury lifestyle feel of the event

Why Event Photography Matters for Hospitality Brands
For venues investing in launches, seasonal campaigns, and special events, professional photography provides content that can be used long after the evening has ended.
Images from events like Claude’s Summer Sessions support:
- Social media marketing
- Press and PR coverage
- Future event promotion
- Website content
- Brand partnerships
- Influencer and media outreach
Strong photography extends the lifespan of an event and helps venues continue building excitement long after the final guests have left.
